Maps
Large IPano tours can sometimes become confusing or disorienting. If there are a lot of hotspots indicating links to other IPanos, they can clutter the view. In these cases, when there are more than three IPanos in a tour, we recommend using a map to help your visitor find their way around.
The map appears next to the IPano window, and illustrates the surrounding environment. The locations of the IPanos - known as nodes - are marked and labeled on the map. The visitor can click on any of the nodes and jump directly to them, without needing to reload the page. This makes moving about a complicated tour very easy.
Have a look at the display home IPano tour [ Broadband | Dialup ] for an example.
Detail Images
IPanos are an outstanding way to get a wide-angle view of an environment. Sometimes you want to look at the close-up details. Detail images are high resolution digital photos of specific items within an IPano. Visitors can click on labeled hotspots within the panorama to load this image and inspect it closely. This gives you the best of both worlds, letting you see the whole environment as well as zooming in on specific points of interest.
Photo Editing
Sometimes the view you want to present to your visitor isn't exactly the view that was captured by the camera. There might be unsightly or distracting background objects in view. Your reception hall may have been painted a different colour since it was photographed, or maybe you want to see what different colours would look like before you decide.
Such changes can usually be made quite easily by editing the panoramic photo in a graphic editor. Simple or complex changes can be made and added to the project to give you exactly the result you are looking for.
Have a look at the Mitsubishi VRX IPano [ Broadband | Dialup ] for an example. Here the background was removed from the windows and replaced with white, so that only the car was featured in the IPano.
Voice Over
A virtual tour can take on the feel of a real guided tour with voiceover. Rather than visitors reading about what they are seeing, you can tell them with a short audio recording from a friendly guide. Use our voice talent or provide your own to create a series of short verbal descriptions for your IPanos.
Ambient Audio
An intensely immersive experience can be had when IPanos are enhanced with ambient audio recorded at the location of the IPano. An IPano of a beach house balcony becomes completely real when you can also hear the surf, seagulls and gentle breeze. The hubbub of a popular nightspot brings the enthusiastic mood to the image. Sounds immerse us in the environment and bring forth powerful emotions. Imagine the impact this would have on potential clients looking for their ideal holiday accommodation or venue for that special dinner.
